Laundry Confessions: Sorting Through the Never-Ending Cycle

Laundry Confessions: Sorting Through the Never-Ending Cycle

Hey everyone,

Let's talk laundry – that never-ending chore we all love to hate! I'll go first: I'm a "once-a-week warrior." ️ Gone are the days of in-house machines and twice-weekly washes. Now, it's a strategic strike at the laundromat!

When I'm at the laundromat, my initial sort is for the wash: lights, darks, whites, and towels. This keeps colors from bleeding and ensures everything gets the right kind of clean. For my whites, I add bleach to keep them bright. If there are any strong odors or stubborn stains, I use ammonia – a trick my Grandma on my mom's side taught me! Pro-tip: For colors, use color-safe bleach to prevent fading!

Another golden rule passed down from my Grandma on my dad's side is crucial, especially at the laundromat: don't overfill the washing machine! It's tempting to cram in as much as possible to save quarters, but your clothes actually won't get clean if they don't have enough space to move freely. Give them room to breathe, and they'll come out much fresher.

But my real secret weapon for putting laundry away? That's when the sorting magic happens! Once all the clothes are clean and dry, I conquer the mountain by dividing it into three mighty piles: hang-up heroes , fold-up champions ✨, and the towel titans. This system makes getting everything back into drawers and closets so much faster!

Tips from a Laundry Pro (Me!)

* Kids = Recruits: The younger they start, the better! Let them loose in the laundry room (with supervision, of course ). Washers, dryers, folding – it's all fair game!

* Audiobook Adventures: Transform laundry time into "me time" with a good audiobook. Right now, I'm lost in the world of "Witches" by Roald Dahl. ‍ What are you listening to?

My Laundry Arsenal (aka Favorite Products)

* Tide Pods (Sam's Club): These are my go-to for cleaning power and convenience. I buy the big packs at Sam's Club to save money.

* Arm & Hammer Odor Blasters (Dollar Tree): For just $5, these keep my clothes smelling fresh. ✨

* Bounce Dryer Sheets (Sam's Club): Another bulk buy from Sam's Club – gotta keep those clothes soft!

A Final Word of Laundry Wisdom: Sometimes, laundry gets put on the back burner, and that's okay! It's perfectly fine to wash one day, fold the next, and put it all away the day after that. Life happens, and as moms, we need to be kind to ourselves. That's also where recruiting your family members comes in handy! Delegating tasks can be a lifesaver.
